PURITY
This is the only company I buy my seafood from, because they test their seafood for toxins. I also buy Wagyu beef + grass-fed bison burgers from them – so delicious. I’ve been a long-time customer, for over 15 years, ever since I started caring about my food sourcing. They share on their website that their seafood is very low in mercury, PCBs and other “persistent organic pollutants” (e.g., pesticides, dioxins, furans, and organobromides). They also have a whole page devoted to Fukishima and six rounds of testing done since the nuclear plant meltdown in Japan.

EXTENSIVE OFFERINGS
Over the years, Vital Choice has greatly increased their product offerings. They now sell Alaskan salmon, halibut, tuna, cod, sablefish, rockfish, salmon roe, sushi-grade salmon + tuna, poke kits, salmon sausages, patties, dogs, burgers, bacon + jerky, scallops, clams, oysters, mussels, shrimp, spot prawns, lobster, crab, calamari, anchovies, sardines, canned salmon/tuna, pork, bison, beef, chicken, and many supplements and condiments. All of their offerings are top quality — wild seafood, grass-fed meats, crate-free pork, pastured poultry, organic flash frozen fruits, and organic dark chocolate.

PRICING
High quality seafood + animal proteins are expensive, but there are ways to save money. I always try to buy in bulk; the higher the quantity, the lower the per-piece price for most items. They also have a rewards club and weekly specials where they give away free product with orders. I always wait for items to become available in their weekly special before I order – I’ve gotten sablefish, Alaskan King salmon, spot prawns and other delicacies this way. I also purchase the 4 ounce salmon to save money, as it is more affordable than the standard 6 ounce options yet I find it fills me up just fine.
